The class was silent. Neath had waltzed into the class half an hour late, and with the smell of booze on his breath. No one knew exactly why he had made the Professors of History and Technology and of Philosophy and Home Ec his guests for the class. Everyone knew that Oddan and Dago were at each other's throats every day. Perhaps this was part of a surprise test, or perhaps Neath had been a little strong on the sauce today. No one exactly knew. Neath gave a broad smile, which literally seemed to stretch from ear to ear on his long thin face.
